When I first learned that Alien Rescue was nominated in this category, I was thrilled, delighted, and overwhelmed. The VR Awards is the industry's biggest night and most coveted award. For my 'very indie' MetaMovie project to be recognized alongside the giants of the VR industry (Meta, Google, etc) seemed like a miracle. So when we traveled to Rotterdam for the awards ceremony in late November of 2022, I was just happy to be there and had zero expectations to win.
But then it happened: they announced Alien Rescue and from there it was all a blur. It was one of the best nights of my life, and marked an important turning point for the MetaMovie project. Thank you to the Academy and to the judges!
